Q: How old are you?
Josh - "31"
Q: How old were you when you started karting?
Josh - "28"
Q: What do you love about racing karts and what got you into it?
Josh - "What I love about racing is the adrenaline at the start of the race. I also love all the friends I have met along the way. I got into racing by going indoor karting with my wife for her birthday- from the start I was hooked. I was there all the time, I started researching karting and found outdoor, gas karting. "
Q: What was your first kart? (brand/chassis/engine?)
Josh - "K&K Cobra with a Briggs and Stratton"
Q: What kind of kart do you race right now? (brand/chassis/engine?)
Josh - "Vemme Kart Briggs and Stratton "
Q: What classes do you race in?
Josh - "Master Briggs"
Q: What is your favourite kind of music or song to listen to before a race?
Josh - "I like to listen to some sort of Rock music, something to get me hyped before a race. "
Q: What is your favourite food to eat on a race day?
Josh - "I don’t like to eat usually during race days, but if I do, it’s easy and light, like a hot dog or a burger."
Q: Who do you look up to in motorsport and why?
Josh - "I don’t really look up to one person, but I respect those that work hard, work as a team and do their best."
Q: What's something that you have learnt from the sport?
Josh - "I learned a lot from racing. I learned that it’s important to be patient. Seat time is your friend, turn laps, as many as you can. I also learned a lot from racing in the rain, like how to apply that Alberta winter driving. "
Q: What is your karts racing # and why did you choose that number?
Josh - "My kart number is 505. I wanted to be kart #50 but my buddy Boyd already had that number."
Q: What is your best racing achievement?
Josh - "It’s hard to choose just one. Winning the Briggs Championship last year and being in the top on the Briggs Weekly certainly has the top spot."
Q: Who supports you the most in your karting endeavors?
Josh - "My wife and daughter support me the most in my karting. They are my number one fans, and they are always on the sidelines cheering me on!"
Q: What is your favorite corner at EDKRA?
Josh "Corner 1 is my favorite because that’s where all the chaos happens."
Q: What are your goals for the upcoming 2022 race season?
Josh - "I haven’t set any goals yet, but I think I’d like to win the Summer Challenge, and maybe challenge myself at some different tracks."
Q: Last but certainly not least. What piece(s) of advice would you give others that are starting out in karting?
Josh - "Turn lots of laps and be patient, if I have learned anything, it’s that it takes time to be a great racer. "
